Evin Galang Director, Senior Instructor

Evin started teaching Vintage dance in Chicago at the height of the swing revival, 1998. Her approach makes dancing accessible to anyone, even if they have three left feet and a broken rhythm bone. Teaching nationally and internationally, she has gotten to work with, learn from, instruct and be inspired by both influential dancers and up and comers alike. Most fulfilling, though, is her opportunity to see the scene grow right here at home. Evin's full bio can be seen here.

F.G. Courtney-Beauregard Senior Instructor
FG caught the swing dancing bug in Washington, DC’s lively scene in 2005. She is known for her connection and responsive following, and enjoys sharing the joy of partner dancing with her students. Balboa is a particular passion; she has learned from many of the world’s top bal instructors and competed successfully in national and regional competitions.

Noah Galang Senior Instructor

Noah began Lindy Hop back in the 90s after a lifetime of martial arts.  He spends most of his dancing time remembering the difference between a Tuck Turn and a Take Down.

Known for his fun and expressive style on the dance floor and in the classroom, he keeps his partners and his students smiling!

Christopher Cohen
Christopher started dancing in 2009 in St. Louis, MO. Having wanted to learn to dance for a while; he jumped at the opportunity to be a friend's partner for a college dance class.  He was hooked, and got involved the local Lindy Hop scene.  Though focusing on his social dancing, he has had to compete to compete at several regional and national events, including: Lindy Focus, Lindy on the Rocks, and the Nevermore Jazz Ball.  He focuses on technique, fundamental footwork, and the inherent whimsy of Lindy Hop in his dancing and teaching
Patrick Hardin
Patrick started learning swing dance in early 2011, and even learned from Evin here at Down South! After learning to swing out, he realized there was no turning back - Lindy for life became his reality. Dancing for Patrick is a reflection of his inner musician - a chance to bring rhythm, line and musicality to an amazing art form shared with someone else for a brief time. Patrick began teaching shortly after learning to dance, teaching with his lovely wife (before they were hitched) at KSUSDA and has since taught locally at GTDA and with DSS! Patrick focuses on connection, musicality and silliness in his dancing AND instruction.
